This timely issue examines the dynamic intersections of migration, digital media, and socio-political landscapes as they unfold across and within China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcf2 Digital Media and the Migrant Experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In an age of digital transformation, <strong>platforms such as WeChat, Sina Weibo, and others<\/strong> are redefining migration narratives. With over <strong>50 million people of Chinese origin living abroad<\/strong> and <strong>nearly 1.5 million immigrants in China<\/strong>, this issue explores how migrants navigate these digital ecosystems. Digital tools are no longer just communication channels\u2014they are <strong>migration infrastructure<\/strong>, tools for <strong>diasporic governance<\/strong>, and even mediums for experiencing racism or inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\udde0 Key Themes and Questions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The guest editors\u2014<strong>Saif Shahin, Mingyi Hou, and Sagnik Dutta from Tilburg University<\/strong>\u2014seek <strong>interdisciplinary contributions<\/strong> that analyze the technological, economic, social, and political dynamics shaping transnational migration in the digital age.
