It was originally founded by <strong>Mark Bould<\/strong> and <strong>Sherryl Vint<\/strong>, and is now co-edited by <strong>Gerry Canavan<\/strong>, <strong>Alison Sperling<\/strong>, and <strong>Ida Yoshinaga<\/strong>. Responsibilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Actively <strong>commissioning content<\/strong>, including special issues and sections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining rigorous <strong>academic and professional standards<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serving as <strong>contact points<\/strong> for prospective contributors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overseeing <strong>peer-review processes<\/strong> and recommending referees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the <strong>ScholarOne Manuscripts<\/strong> submission system<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting the journal across <strong>academic and professional networks<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Representing the journal at relevant <strong>conferences and scholarly events<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udf0d Ideal Candidate Profile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are especially welcomed from scholars whose research aligns with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Black film and Black speculative fiction<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Transpacific cultural exchange<\/strong>, including anime, animation, or video games<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Media studies<\/strong>, particularly global speculative film and television<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Editorial experience and familiarity with digital submission systems are important.
