This fellowship is set to commence in the first or second quarter of 2026 for a duration of <strong>18 months<\/strong>, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should hold a <strong>PhD degree or equivalent<\/strong> in Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, or related Social Science disciplines. A strong record of publications in high-quality international journals or refereed publications is essential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, knowledge of the <strong>Chinese media system<\/strong> and the <strong>global social media environment and governance<\/strong> will be highly desirable. Candidates with expertise in <strong>computational social science, causal inference, text mining, machine learning, advanced quantitative methods, or AI in communication studies<\/strong> will have a distinct advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Role and Responsibilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The selected candidate will work closely with interdisciplinary scholars on a <strong>General Research Fund (GRF) research project<\/strong>. Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Conducting independent research and producing high-quality academic output.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborating with a team of scholars on interdisciplinary projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preparing research proposals for competitive grant applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Salary and Benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of Hong Kong offers a <strong>highly competitive salary<\/strong> commensurate with the candidate\u2019s qualifications and experience.
