This internationally respected journal, published by Liverpool University Press, fosters dialogue across science fiction studies, film studies, television studies, and cultural studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Founded by Mark Bould (UWE) and Sherryl Vint (University of California, Riverside), the journal is currently co-edited by Gerry Canavan (Marquette University), Alison Sperling (Florida State University), and Ida Yoshinaga (Georgia Institute of Technology), supported by an esteemed international advisory board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Role and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly appointed Co-Editors will play an active role in shaping the journal\u2019s future by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Commissioning content, including special issues and themed sections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborating with fellow editors to maintain high academic and professional standards.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acting as a primary contact for potential contributors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting in the peer review process and recommending referees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using the ScholarOne Manuscripts submission system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting the journal to potential contributors, readers, and subscribers across academic, governmental, and professional networks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Representing the journal at conferences and other scholarly events.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Selection Criteria<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants should submit:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Name and contact details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Previous experience with journal editing and online submission systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ideas for the future development of <em>Science Fiction Film and Television<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional information supporting the application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A CV with the names and contact details of two referees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The editorial board is particularly interested in candidates with research expertise in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Black film and Black speculative fiction.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transpacific cultural exchange, including animation and\/or video games.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Media studies and\/or global speculative television or film.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Deadline<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications should be addressed to Clare Hooper, Director of Journals Publishing at Liverpool University Press, and submitted as soon as possible, but no later than <strong>September 1, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Email your application here: <a href=\"mailto:clare.hooper@liverpool.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clare.hooper@liverpool.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>(The information shared here is sourced from official websites and has been reviewed by Media Research for relevance and authenticity.
