📣 About the Congress
The 30th FILLM Congress invites scholars, educators, and practitioners worldwide to engage with the theme “Talking Country.” This theme emphasizes the profound connections between language, literature, and the concept of “country,” particularly through Indigenous perspectives. It encourages discussions on how languages and literature interact with landscapes, cultures, and identities.
🧭 Congress Themes & Sub themes
Participants are encouraged to explore topics such as:
- Interactions and conflicts among languages and literatures across countries
- Intersections of nationhood with cultural identities like gender, race, and religion
- Impacts of nation-affirming agendas on cultural expressions
- Indigenous and multicultural contributions reshaping understandings of country and culture
- Decolonization efforts and preservation of languages and cultures
- Ecological aspects of places and cultures, including ecolinguistics and ecopoetics
- Ontological foundations of comparative language and literature studies
- Concepts of ancient, imagined, and present-day countries
- Countries as narratives, voices, and authors
- Educational challenges related to languages and literatures
📝 Call for Proposals
Proposals are invited for:
- Individual Papers: Up to 18 minutes
- Panel Sessions: 85 minutes, including discussion
- Academic Skills Workshops: 85 minutes
Submissions should address the congress theme and include details about participants, presentation type, title, and abstract.
Submission Deadline: September 30, 2025
Notification of Acceptance: By November 30, 2025
