Science Fiction Film and Television is an interdisciplinary journal that serves as a critical platform for discussions at the intersection of science fiction studies, film studies, television studies, and cultural studies. It was originally founded by Mark Bould and Sherryl Vint, and is now co-edited by Gerry Canavan, Alison Sperling, and Ida Yoshinaga. The journal benefits from the guidance of a global advisory board and is published by Liverpool University Press.

The new Co-Editors will play an integral role in shaping the journal’s direction and maintaining high academic standards. Responsibilities include:
- Actively commissioning content, including special issues and sections

- Serving as contact points for prospective contributors
- Overseeing peer-review processes and recommending referees
- Using the ScholarOne Manuscripts submission system
- Promoting the journal across academic and professional networks
- Representing the journal at relevant conferences and scholarly events
🌍 Ideal Candidate Profile
Applications are especially welcomed from scholars whose research aligns with:
- Black film and Black speculative fiction
- Transpacific cultural exchange, including anime, animation, or video games
- Media studies, particularly global speculative film and television
Editorial experience and familiarity with digital submission systems are important. The editorial board is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity across all roles.
